Kurt Beil, ND, LAc, MPH
Dr. Kurt Beil is a naturopathic doctor and licensed acupuncturist. Practicing since 2006, he incorporates the art & science of healing with his passion for teaching, learning, and his love of nature into every patient interaction. He is dedicated to providing the best quality health care to residents of Clackamas County.
Dr. Kurt attended Northwestern University in Evanston, IL, where he earned a B.A. in Biological Sciences with a concentration in Evolutionary Processes, as well as a minor in Psychology. During this time he was introduced to numerous concepts that shaped his perspective on health & wellness, including Daoist & Buddhist philosophy, Lakota spirituality, Shamanic practices, Ethnobotany, Quantum Energy Healing, and Complex Adaptive Systems Theory.
These experiences lead him to pursue further education from the National College of Naturopathic Medicine (NCNM) in Portland, Oregon, where he studied many natural and allopathic medicine techniques and traditions from the US, Europe and China. In 2006, Dr. Kurt obtained his Naturopathic (ND) and Classical Chinese Medicine (MSOM) degrees and began his private clinical practice in Portland.
During this time, he obtained his Master's of Public Health (MPH) degree from the Oregon Master of Public Health program, focusing on Urban Green Space as a Public Health Promotion method, while concurrently earning a Graduate Certificate in Sustainability from Portland State University's (PSU) nationally-recognized Institute for Sustainable Solutions. Through this work, Dr. Kurt became the founding co-chair of the Health & Nature subcommittee of the Intertwine Alliance, a 150+ member coalition-based non-profit focused on supporting & promoting the parks, trails and natural areas of the Portland metropolitan region.
Dr. Kurt also became a faculty member of his alma mater, teaching graduate-level classes at NCNM in Environmental Medicine, Stress & Human Health, and Microbiology & Public Health. This occurred during his post-doctoral research appointment at NCNM’s Helfgott Research Institute, where he conducted research and published peer-reviewed papers on natural and built environments' effects on measures of physical and mental stress.
As a fully trained and licensed physician in Oregon, Dr. Kurt has treated a range of health conditions, including mental health concerns, auto-immune disease, musculo-skeletal complaints, digestive issues, cardiovascular disease, respiratory ailments, environmental toxicities, genito-urinary infections, metabolic disorders, neurological conditions, and various chemical dependencies. He also has taught a weekly class in restorative & energizing Qigong, and has extensive training in utilizing principles and practices of Ecotherapy, which he has taught for the Academy of Integrative Health & Medicine's Interprofessional Fellowship program.
Born & raised in White Plains, NY, Dr. Kurt is excited to be providing holistic, natural healthcare to the residents of Sandy and the rest of Clackamas county and beyond. In his spare time, he enjoys camping, skiing, kayaking, taiji, yoga, and spending time with his family.
